Summer updates July 24th, 2008

Dear Wonderful Friends and Painters,
I feel deeply moved by so many of you who have been concerned and caring about my health and asking for more news.
I am glad to say that I am recovering and doing well.
The stay in Switzerland in the biological Paracelsus Clinic was very intense. They checked every part of my body and looked for any weaknesses and treated them mostly with homeopathy and biological medicine and other very interesting things unknown in this country. They mostly work at stimulating the immune system, cleaning and strengthening every organ.  I was very responsive to the treatment and my general health and  digestion were improved.  I have already gained a few pounds since I came  back.
I was happy to be able to teach again the master class in June and felt very inspired.  It really was a treat for me.
I am still a bit tentative about scheduling workshops too far in advance; I need a little more time to fully feel confident and stable.
I have been working on 2 new cds; on my new idea about a book;and getting ready to finish my last video project. I am also very happy to have been invited to teach at a Zen Center and am truly looking forward to it.
I paint every day, often for a few hours, and delight in it.
So, all is well.
I have a leisurely life here where I follow the mysterious stream of my interests moment to moment.
My family with my 2 grandchildren is coming in a few days and that is a lot of joy. The contact with the little girls (6 and 9) is so real and loving.  I adore them; I specially enjoy bringing new ideas to their minds and hearts.  They are very willing to learn and feel and they are starting to really understand creativity.

I will be going to Switzerland for 2 more weeks in Nov. to finish the treatment that I started. Detoxifying the system is the goal at this point.
I do look forward to teaching at Esalen in September.
I do hope that all of you are doing well and are enjoying the summer.
I want to thank you all again for the care and support you have and are still giving me. I am very grateful to have been the recipient of such love.
May many blessings meet your every step.
I will keep you all in my heart and I hope to see you soon.

balancing stones

I noticed how much a few photos add to these entries, so I thought I'd contribute this photo I took of Michele a little while ago, some weeks after her surgery.

I think the featured activity is a nice metaphor for her recovery process and it's also pretty clear she's having fun. I wanted all of you to see that after all your amazing love and support.

M. doesn't know I put this picture up, so let's keep it our secret!

Love to you all. Graham.

more news from Michele

Dear Wonderful Friends and Painters,
I have been deeply touched by some of your emails asking to have further news of my recovery. I am happy to say that I am doing very well.  My blood tests have come back to a normal level, my strength is returning everyday a little more and I can take care of myself and do almost everything I need to. There are still a lot of routine appointments to go to, but all is well.

I have been very happy to have the energy to start painting 3 weeks ago and since then the days are not long enough for the strong inspiration I feel.  I am enjoying painting tremendously, letting the images and colors process the intense adventure I just went through.

I am planning to go to Europe for an alternative treatment for 3 weeks and I am looking forward to it. I will be going to a Swiss Biological clinic, the Paracelsus Clinic near Zurich. The doctors there have regular credentials but they mostly use alternative medicine and soft means for cleansing and detoxifying the system or addressing any possible issue after surgery. I feel it will boost and strengthen my body. At the end of the 3 weeks, I will go to Paris to visit my grandchildren for a few days and that will be a very sweet finale to this European journey for me.

I do look forward to teaching in June.  My teaching re-entry will be the second part of the master class in San Francisco and then Esalen, in September.
I want to thank you all again for the care and support you have been giving me as a community. I am very grateful to have been the recipient of such love.

May many blessings meet your every step.
I will keep you all in my heart.

a letter from Michele....

Dear Kind and Beautiful Friends,
My heart is full from all the love, good wishes, prayers and healing energy you have been sending me.
I feel you fueled a gentle miracle. I was so weak before the surgery that I was not sure what would follow, yet all went well.
My surgery seemed to have been a group event in which I was carried by the caring energy of an amazing community. Also,I was never alone at the hospital and the first 2 nights Carol and then Suzanne stayed with me despite the poor sleeping conditions.
When I arrived home a few days ago, I had the joy of receiving the prayer flags and bathed in the intense healing energy of this magnificent gift gathered by Suzanne and in which so many people participated.  I felt a healing presence radiating on me and I am still reading the flag caring messages.
The journey of healing continues and I sometimes feel the wonder of a little child discovering the world when I can move in a new way or eat another food.  The pain has receded quite a bit. I am still receiving a lot of support from the community while I am gaining back my strength.
Two days ago I received the best news:  after the final tests about my cancer, I finally know officially that chemo won't be needed (it was only a maybe before).
May you receive a thousand times what you gave me so generously.
With love and blessings,
Michele
